2010 - 2012 Board of Directors
The Society of
Government Meeting Professionals (SGMP) is the only organization that
is solely focused on the needs of the government meeting planning
industry. We are the fourth largest chapter in the nation and our
members hail from all across the great state of Missouri. The
majority of our planners are employed by state government agencies.
Our supplier members represent the hotel industry, convention and visitor
bureaus, and other meeting-related companies who are dedicated to
providing the required resources that meeting planners need to complete
their job.
SGMP is a non-profit national organization
comprised of thirty-three chapters that
aims to improve the knowlege and expertise of those who plan and execute
federal, state, or local meetings, through the provision of educational
and networking opportunities; thereby also improving the quality,
efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of government meetings. The
Missouri State Capital Chapter offers a wide variety of educational
training opportunities through monthly programs at the local Chapter
level, our Annual Joint Meeting Planners Tradeshow and at the Annual
National Education Conference.
I invite you, to join SGMP’s Missouri State Capital Chapter and become one of the great members that are able to take advantage of the benefits that include: continuing education units; professional certifications, including the CGMP (Certified Government Meeting Professional); membership directories; government “Advantage” magazine; industry forums; scholarships; network of resources; and much more.
